He was a man of many names: CB - Cool Breeze, Beast, Houdini, Docious, Sir B, and C Bizzle.
HIS LEGACY
Astley S Burrowes, 77, started his next chapter in this universe on February 11, 2020 with his devoted wife by his side in Jamaica.

He had a deep appreciation for the education, dominoes, jazz music, especially the piano. Anyone who was graced with his presence at his home would receive a special piano session as he showed off his prowess on the keys. If that was not enough, he would put on some Keith Jarret to expose you to his favorite musician.
 
Astley had a passion for the pursuit of knowledge and local sports.  He was a die hard Washington Redskins and Washington Bullets fan. He picked up a newspaper every morning. He particularly enjoyed spirited debates with his friends.  Any given weekend, you could find him watching the Redskins game and witness those spirited conversations.
 
Astley’s career focused on his love of chemistry. He spent the majority of his career working hematology at Howard University Hospital, where he was known as Houdini.

Upon his retirement, he moved into his dream home in Jamaica, where he could live off the land eating mangos, plantain, pear (avocado), and papaya with some fresh coconut water from his garden.
 
Above all, Astley’s magnetic personality will be remembered most.  He wanted the best out of everyone and was very influential in making sure they succeeded with his words of advice and encouragement.  Everywhere he went, someone knew him. His capacity for speaking his mind will remain unmatched.  Words can not express his unwavering devotion for his children to succeed. 
 
Astley is survived by his wife, Beverly Burrowes; son, Lawrence;  daughter, Tamara, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.  Jamal, Jamila, and Janel were his in-laws children but he treated them as if they were his own.
